Schools for Change: Leading the Plastic Free Movement<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Plastic Free Schools initiative is\u00a0part of the\u00a0<\/span>Keep our Sand and Sea Plastic Free \u2013 Destination Zero Waste Cyprus and Greece<\/span><\/b>\u00a0project by TUI Care Foundation and the Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Initiative (CSTI).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Plastic Free Schools initiative empowers schools to reduce plastic waste and inspire environmental responsibility from an early age. Through education, awareness-raising, and hands-on action, students are encouraged to become active participants in creating a more sustainable future.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With support from grants provided by the Conservation Collective, Schools for Change: Leading the Plastic Free Movement is delivered through the Plastic Free Schools initiative, advancing environmental education and supporting schools in implementing long-term solutions to reduce plastic waste.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Why Schools Matter<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Schools are not only places of learning; they are ecosystems of influence. Every\u00a0behaviour\u00a0practiced within a school has the potential to ripple outward into families and communities.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Plastic pollution, particularly single-use plastics, is one of the most pressing environmental challenges affecting Cyprus and coastal regions worldwide. Addressing it requires long-term\u00a0behavioural\u00a0change, not short-term awareness campaigns.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Through Plastic Free Schools, students are empowered to understand the environmental impact of plastic waste, while also being equipped with practical alternatives and solutions. In doing so, they become part of a generation that actively contributes to protecting the Mediterranean coastline and marine life.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A Whole-School Approach to Change<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
