The tourism sector is a major contributor to this \u2013 think of all the bottles, straws and bags used by tourists. Together they represent around 180,000 employees and 50 million holidaymakers. In the coming months, a plan will be developed to reduce the use of plastics and to prevent plastic pollution at destinations. This will be a collaboration with the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www2.unwto.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UNWTO<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unenvironment.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UN Environment<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ellenmacarthurfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ellen MacArthur Foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/article>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-5efe25c\" data-id=\"5efe25c\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9741e37 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9741e37\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<article class=\"user-content\">\n<p>Maria van der Heijden, Managing Director of MVO Nederland, says:<\/p>\n<p><strong> \u201cTourism is one of the largest sectors in the world.
