The “Plastic Free School” idea is to organise a school that encourages and facilitates its students to avoid the use of single-use plastics, while influencing their choices beyond the school environment. The aim is to sensitize students and staff to reduce the use of single-use plastic by being a part of the solution.

This initiative is based on volunteers and kind sponsorships for the necessary facilities and the relevant communication campaigns. All the sponsors will be promoted through the initiative’s communications, and the logo of the sponsors will appear on signage as specified below.
Sponsorships are needed to cover the following:
- Water Station
Water Station Installation at school to provide access for the students and staff to free, cold and filtered water. The water station will have a water meter to measure the water used to estimate how many plastic bottles are saved by the station. The logos of the sponsors are on the water station for promotional reasons.
- Concept Sign
Installation of a sign near the water station, with the mascot of the Plastic Free Schools initiative, and the logos of the sponsors are on it for promotional reasons. The concept sign is an eye-catching welcome sign to get the attention of the students and encourage the use of the water station.
- Reusable water bottles
Reusable water bottles are distributed to all students and staff to encourage the use of the water station. The reusable water bottles are ordered in accordance with the total number of students and staff, with the logos of the sponsors printed on them.
- Upcycled Artwork
Installation of an upcycled artwork created by the students out of plastic. The artwork will play a role in sensitising current and future students and visitors about the burning issue of plastic pollution. The used plastic will be collected from clean-up campaigns organised by the Project.
- Bus trip to the beach
A bus trip is organized as part of the beach clean-up activity conducted with the school, in which students and staff participate. The clean-up provides a hands-on educational experience, helping participants understand the impact of plastic pollution on marine and coastal ecosystems while actively contributing to the protection of the environment. Sponsors will be acknowledged through the initiative’s communication materials and related promotional activities.
